About Small Talks
AIGA Chicago Small Talks are intimately scaled events offering attendees the opportunity to learn about business practices, view work and experience environments at local studios and firms first-hand.
About Lincoln Park Zoo
The Lincoln Park Zoo design team creates marketing, communications and promotional materials to be hosted at the zoo and beyond. The projects are aimed towards tailored audiences in a very unique workspace. There is more content than attention span, therefore the team must have a strong understanding of the conservation and science, animal care and animal welfare, and learning content in order to engage the zoo’s guests and potential supporters quickly.
Designing for a zoo that’s open everyday with over 3.6 million visitors a year is quite a challenge. Furthermore, Lincoln Park Zoo is the only free privately managed zoo in the country – meaning we work hard to raise over 80% of our funding from members, donors and zoo visitors – quite a challenge on a limited budget. This event will provide insight to our members for how a highly dynamic institution promotes its key messages with on-point design and strategy for the general zoo visitor and potential members and donors – all while hearing gibbons call and seeing red pandas at play!
Attendees should use the West Gate location, at the corner of Stockton Dr. and Webster Dr., and will be ushered in through the grounds to the event space.
