Design for Social Impact Workshop Series
Design for Social Impact is a series of workshops that focus on learning new methods to create stronger, user-centered products and services in the social impact space. The workshops will be mostly hands-on activities that examine core methods of the human centered design processes. The goal of the series is to give attendees skills that can be brought back to teammates and colleagues and put to use immediately.

This workshop series is for designers and non-for-profit professionals. These workshops will share design thinking skills with designers, those working in not-for-profit and social services sectors, and anyone interested in utilizing resources that can lead to lasting change. No prior design experience necessary.

To better understand the entire design thinking process, it is recommended participants attend all four sessions. Cost of attendance is not lessened if participants cannot attend each week.

Students from IIT Institute of Design will be helping facilitate workshops and fielding questions through out each session. 

September 27: Explore - Building Empathy for Your User
How to better understand and connect with the people you're serving and designing for.

October 4: Understand - Making Sense of Research
How to interpret information and turn research into ideas.

October 11: Imagine - Generating Ideas + Prototyping Solutions
How to bring ideas to life with tangible prototypes and artifacts.

October 18: Refine - Pitching Your Ideas
How to build conviction and promote an idea through compelling storytelling techniques.
