Design For Good: Fostering Literacy
In collaboration with Infiniteach

In Chicago, 49% of our city’s 4th graders are below basic levels of reading proficiency, 18% of our population has not completed high school or the GED and 19% of our adults lack basic literacy skills.* But through powerful partnerships, people like Stacy Ratner (Founder of Open Books; Co-Founder and Chair of Chicago Literacy Alliance) envision a city where 100% of residents are functionally literate.

On November 11th, join us as Ratner leads a conversation between literacy-focused organizations and the designers who have collaborated with them. We’ll discuss their experiences, challenges and the profound results they’ve achieved together.

Be sure to arrive early for a meet-and-greet in the Open Books storefront before heading upstairs for the panel discussion. Beverages and light appetizers will be served.
