Join Paul Antonio, one of the Crown Office Scribes, for his upcoming Chicago Calligraphy Workshops. Paul has a broad knowledge base in both the Academic History of the Writing Systems the world over, and a deft practical understanding of calligraphy as a physical form. While on his US Tour, he will offer two different calligraphy workshops.

The Intermediate Calligraphy workshop will focus on improving point pen and pointed brush accuracy for more accurate letters and improved letter and word spacing. It will also look at incorporating flourishes and give a deeper understanding of how a flourish is constructed both with pointed nibs and pointed brushes.
The Beginners Copperplate Workshop

The Beginners Copperplate Workshop will look at his new theory on Copperplate script, making it a more easily accessible hand. The workshop will centre around accuracy, form and structure and how those combine to get good flow in the letters. The class will end with look unconventional surfaces and keeping shapes consistent.
