Intersection of Design and Technology

Intersection of Design and Technology
Tuesday, September 29, 2015
6-8pm

General Assembly at 1871
222 W Merchandise Mart Plaza, 12th Floor
Chicago , IL 60654

Join General Assembly for a lively panel discussion of well-respected designers and developers about the hot-button issue of learning to code or not as a designer. Their experts will discuss their perspective on skilling up across disciplines, opportunities for cross-functional collaboration and improving your individual value, product and company productivity. These industry experts will speak to trends and efficiency in hiring as well.

Developers, you might not want to dedicate time to becoming a pro designer, but you should probably understand the fundamentals, be able to spot good UX from bad UX, and have the tools to create better experiences and build products that people love to use.

Designers, you’ve probably been hearing that it’s time you learnt how to code. Coding allows you to solve problems, understand what’s possible when designing user interfaces, and no longer be at the mercy of the dev team for every tweak.

The panel will be followed by happy hour where you’ll get to meet other designers, developers and other web enthusiasts over a beer or two.

This is a free event. RSVP here.
