1–3 p.m. | come-and-go D.I.Y. booklet-making
3–4 p.m. | follow-up dialogue

Filmfront in Pilsen
1740 W 18th St, Chicago, Illinois 60608

Designers Talking presents a collaborative investigation into source material and authorship. Eight graphic designers will contribute essays, excerpts, and aphorisms that inform their practice. These texts will be installed in multiples in the gallery and available to compile and bind into booklets.

Stop by and make a reader from the selections any time between 1–3 p.m. and then stick around for lively conversation from 3–4 p.m.

Selections of source material are contributed by designers who have participated in the Designers Talking residency/dialogue series and include:
Annie Yiling Wang
Adam J. Kurtz
Travis Stearns
Ghazaal Vojdani
Nicole Killian
Nani Albornoz
Hassan Rahim
Bijan Berahimi

Attendees are encouraged to bring source material of their own. If interested, please bring four 8.5″ x 11″ copies of an essay/excerpt/text that informs your practice so that it can be shared and compiled into others’ readers.

Designers Talking is a showcase for contemporary graphic design and a platform for critical dialogue. Once a month, visiting designers are invited to participate in a rapid-fire daylong residency, show resulting work at a gallery opening, and engage with participants in an open-feedback dialogue the following day. Visual play, conceptual experimentation, and irreverent exchanges are wildly encouraged.
