Call for Typeforce 7 Submissions

Calling all Typographic All-Stars! It’s time to show what you’ve got. Submissions for the 7th Annual Typeforce Exhibition are open now through Friday, January 15th.

Every year, curators Ed Marzsewski & Dawn Hancock select 20+ installations to be exhibited in Chicago’s Typeforce exhibition. Historically, these works have comprised some of the best type or lettering-based art being created by emerging artists and designers in our city and beyond.

Proposal Expectations
• PDF file with a description of the intended work(s) & how you might install it on/in a 10’×10’ wall/space
• Images of proposed work or examples of your previous work if not yet completed

Ideally, proposals should be for a series of pieces or have the ability to occupy a 10’×10′ space. Larger pieces will be considered, however we generally do not select works that do not fill the 10’x10’ space. The show is intended to showcase artistic-based works, not typeface design. If you are unfamiliar with past shows, we highly recommend looking at the hashtag #typeforce on Instagram or the photos on our Facebook page.

Group entries and international proposals are welcome. Awardees must be onsite to install the week prior to the opening.
