AIGA Chicago invites you to participate in open nominations for the 2017 Chapter Awards: the Fellow Award, Corporate Leadership Award, Above and Beyond Award, and the Emerging Designer Award. Nominations must be submitted by Monday, January 30, 2017.

This year we encourage the nomination of designers, companies and organizations whose work strives to: elevate and include all ages, disciplines, races, income, genders, and perspectives in the design community; reduce violence in Chicago; and encourage K-12 design education.

All submissions will be presented to the Nominating Committee, which consists of the current chapter President, an Advisory Board Member, a Past Board Member, the Outreach Director and a Member at Large. The Nominating Committee will meet in late January to determine the award recipients, based on submissions received.

AIGA Chicago 2017 Awards

Fellow Award
The AIGA Fellow Award is presented to an individual who has contributed to the advancement of the graphic design profession throughout his or her career. It is a nationally recognized AIGA award, given periodically by each of the 67 AIGA chapters. The Fellow award program is a means of recognizing mature designers who have made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within their local or regional design community as well as in their local AIGA chapter. The areas of education, writing, leadership and reputation, as well as the practice of design, are given equal consideration in measuring significant contribution.

Corporate Leadership Award
The AIGA Chicago Corporate Design Leadership Award recognizes organizations that have shown dedication and leadership by promoting excellence in design as a meaningful business policy. Recipients demonstrate outstanding and consistent commitment to the highest standards of design as a means to advancing their corporate message and brand experiences.

Above and Beyond Award
The Above and Beyond Award recognizes long-standing service and commitment to AIGA Chicago and its membership. The efforts of those recognized ensure the chapter’s continued ability to encourage, promote and serve the graphic design profession.

Emerging Designer Award
The AIGA Chicago Emerging Designer Award was created to support those in the Chicago design community who are still in the early stages of their career but are doing great things none-the-less. This award is not restricted by age, but nominees should be 0-5 years in their design career. Submissions are based on excellent design skills, community engagement and leadership, and AIGA involvement.
