Mentor Program: Tour at Havas Worldwide

Mentor Program: Tour at Havas Worldwide
written by Alyssa Low

It has been wonderful getting to know more fellow designers. For the past few months my group and I have held our meetings every other Thursday at my office, DevBridge Group. Leading one of the “New Opportunities” groups, we all have been able to share our portfolios and attend a few gallery events.

Recently, my group and a few others had the opportunity to visit Havas Worldwide. They were gracious enough to give us the grand tour and afterwards meet for a Q&A session. We first viewed the entire office, taking a peek at where all the brilliance happens: Creative, Account, Production departments, and the sky deck (note: with an awesome view). Vibrant, open and fresh are probably the best ways to describe the office. Being that the space spans through out three floors, we all felt a good sense of collaboration and creativity, as we viewed some of the in progress and final works hanging on the walls.

After the tour we all met with some of the Associate Creative Directors and Human Resources staff for a Q&A discussion. The conversation generated was really rich and valuable. They provided my group tips on portfolios, interviews, and the application process. As well as giving us an insight on Havas culture, workflow, design process and what it takes to work at Havas.

We all had a blast visiting Havas Worldwide. We appreciated the time everyone took to meet with us and to organize such a valuable tour. I am really proud at my group’s participation and contribution in making the most out of this tour.
