AIGA Chicago, Basecamp and Shutterstock take over lakefront Divvy stations

On June 12, 2014, AIGA Chicago, in partnership with Basecamp and Shutterstock, threw a massive party and poster show in Chicago’s West Loop. Titled This Is Chicago, the event centered on 100 local designers’ visual responses to a simple question: “What does design in Chicago mean to you?”

Each poster was up for grabs via raffle, and by the end of the night, IDEO designer Elaine Fong’s poster was sitting pretty with the most bids. Now that poster—which celebrates Chicago as an intersection of gritty, workhorse values and sparkling creative ambition—is up at key lakefront Divvy stations* for the entire city to see. It will remain in place through the middle of August.

Congratulations to Elaine for her standout work, a shining embodiment of Chicago’s bustling and continually growing creative community.

And special thanks to Divvy for providing the platform for sharing.

All proceeds generated through the raffle of Elaine’s poster and its counterparts at the This Is Chicago event are being applied toward AIGA programming and education initiatives.

* Poster locations: Adler Planetarium, Museum Campus, Montrose Harbor, Theater on the Lake, Lakeview & Fullerton, Lakeshore Drive & Monroe
