Create a poster for Sight Six: Chicago Architecture Biennial Poster Design Exhibition
Help architect a new history for Chicago.
What is architecture but another form of design? That’s why we’re calling on the local design community to create posters to be featured in an exhibit that helps celebrate the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
This year’s biennial theme is “Make New History,” so we’re inviting designers to explore a piece of the city’s history. Choose one of the Chicago Architecture Biennial’s six anchor sites and learn about it—visit the site, research its history and discover more about the community it supports. Then, consider the forms, images, and language that help form the site’s identity, and use those elements to create a poster that celebrates it.
The posters selected by a jury of AIGA Chicago board members and Chicago Architecture Biennial representatives will be on view at the Chicago Cultural Center from September 12th through September 30th. The designers whose work is selected will be invited to the VIP opening on September 21 where they can pick up a copy of their printed poster.

DePaul Art Museum
DuSable Museum of African American History
Hyde Park Art Center
The National Museum of Mexican Art
The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture
Specifications:
-Final size must be 24×36” with portrait orientation
-All files will be digitally printed and must be print ready CMYK
-Submit hi-res PDFs with crop marks and 1/8” bleed
-Leave two inches at the bottom of each poster for credits that will be placed on selected posters
-Files must be labeled “Title” to be considered
